Retraction and Correction
Artechno maintains the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record through transparent post-publication action. The journal distinguishes between minor corrections, substantive corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, and removal in exceptional circumstances.
Correction
A correction is published when an error affects the accuracy, interpretation, attribution, or discoverability of an article but does not invalidate its central findings or argument. The correction notice identifies the article, explains the change, states who initiated it, and links to the corrected version. Silent changes are limited to minor production errors that do not affect meaning.
Retraction
An article may be retracted when findings or central claims are unreliable because of serious error, fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, unethical research, duplicate publication, compromised peer review, unauthorized material, or another substantial integrity problem. Retraction is intended to correct the literature and protect its integrity. The original article remains identifiable where legally possible and is clearly marked as retracted, with a linked notice explaining the reason.
Expression of Concern
The journal may publish an expression of concern when credible evidence raises a serious question but the investigation is incomplete, inconclusive, delayed, or dependent on another institution. The notice will be updated when sufficient information becomes available.
Removal
Published content will be removed only in exceptional circumstances, such as a final legal requirement, a serious privacy violation, a substantial safety risk, or clearly unlawful content. Bibliographic information and an explanation will remain whenever possible.
Process
Concerns may be reported by authors, readers, reviewers, editors, institutions, or other parties. The journal evaluates evidence, seeks responses from relevant individuals, protects confidentiality, manages conflicts of interest, and cooperates with institutions when appropriate. The form of notice is determined by the evidence and the need to maintain an accurate scholarly record.
