Author Guidelines

General Requirements

Authors must ensure that the manuscript is original, within the focus and scope of Artechno, written in clear academic English, and not under consideration by another journal. The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and for confirming that every listed author has approved the submitted and final versions.

Article Types and Recommended Length

• Original Research Article: 5,000–8,000 words, excluding references and appendices.
• Review Article: 6,000–10,000 words, with a transparent review method and critical synthesis.
• Practice-Based or Practice-Led Research Article: 5,000–8,000 words, supported by documentation and critical reflection on the creative process.
• Design and Development Study: 5,000–8,000 words, reporting needs, design decisions, implementation, evaluation, and limitations.
• Case Study: 4,000–7,000 words, presenting an analytically grounded examination of a defined case.
• Conceptual Article: 5,000–8,000 words, developing a coherent theoretical argument, model, or critical framework.

Manuscript Format

• Submit the manuscript as a Microsoft Word document (.docx).
• Use A4 paper, 2.5 cm margins, Times New Roman 12-point font, and 1.15 line spacing unless the journal template specifies otherwise.
• Number all pages and use continuous line numbers when possible.
• Remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, and other identifying information from the review manuscript.
• Upload a separate title page containing full author information and declarations.

Required Manuscript Components

1. Title: Concise, informative, and normally no more than 20 words.
2. Abstract: 200–250 words explaining the problem, purpose, method, principal findings or argument, and contribution.
3. Keywords: Four to six specific terms not merely repeating the title.
4. Introduction: Research context, gap, problem, purpose, contribution, and relevant literature.
5. Method: Research design, data or materials, participants or sources, procedures, analytical methods, ethical approval, and limitations where relevant.
6. Results and Discussion: Clear presentation and interpretation of findings in relation to the research problem and previous studies. Separate sections may be used when appropriate.
7. Conclusion: A direct answer to the research objective, principal contribution, limitations, and justified implications or future directions.
8. Declarations: Acknowledgements, funding, conflicts of interest, author contributions, data availability, ethical approval, consent, and AI-use disclosure as applicable.
9. References: Complete and accurate sources formatted in APA 7th edition.

Title Page and Author Metadata

The title page must include the article title, full names of all authors, institutional affiliations, country, email addresses, ORCID identifiers when available, and the corresponding author’s contact details. Author order must reflect the agreed contribution. Changes to authorship after submission require a written explanation and agreement from all affected authors.

References

Use APA 7th edition. References must be relevant, traceable, and cited in the text. Authors should rely primarily on peer-reviewed and original sources. A research article should normally include at least 20 references, adjusted to the field and method. Recent literature should be used where relevant, while foundational works may be included when necessary. Include DOI links in the format https://doi.org/... whenever available. Reference-management software is strongly recommended.

Tables, Figures, Images, Scores, and Media

Tables and figures must be numbered in the order cited and must have clear captions. Authors must provide files of sufficient quality for publication. The manuscript must identify the source of every photograph, artwork, screenshot, score, diagram, recording, or third-party element. Written permission is required when reuse is not covered by law or an applicable open license. Any digital alteration must be disclosed and must not misrepresent research evidence.

Audio, video, code, datasets, interactive works, and other supplementary materials may be submitted when they support the article. Authors are responsible for stable file formats, accurate descriptions, permissions, accessibility, and long-term availability where possible.

Research Ethics and Cultural Responsibility

Research involving human participants, identifiable individuals, personal data, cultural communities, or restricted cultural knowledge must comply with applicable ethical requirements. Authors must obtain informed consent and institutional approval when required. Research concerning Indigenous, local, or traditional knowledge must respect community protocols, attribution practices, permissions, benefit-sharing expectations, and restrictions on sensitive knowledge.

Generative AI

Generative AI systems may not be listed as authors. Authors remain fully accountable for the accuracy, originality, citations, permissions, and integrity of all submitted content. Material use of AI tools must be disclosed in the manuscript according to the Generative AI Policy. AI-generated references, fabricated information, undisclosed synthetic data, and manipulative image generation are prohibited.

Submission and Revision

Submit through the journal’s OJS platform. Complete all metadata accurately and upload the anonymized manuscript, title page, required declarations, and supplementary files. When revision is requested, upload a revised manuscript and a point-by-point response explaining how each reviewer and editor comment was addressed. Changes should be clearly marked unless the editor instructs otherwise.

Language and Copyediting

Authors are responsible for submitting readable academic English. The editorial team may request language revision before peer review or publication. Copyediting improves clarity and consistency but does not transfer responsibility for content from the authors to the journal.
