Publication Ethics

Artechno is committed to integrity, transparency, fairness, accountability, and editorial independence in scholarly publishing. This policy applies to authors, editors, reviewers, editorial board members, staff, and the publisher.

Editorial Independence and Fairness

Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, relevance to the journal, originality, methodological adequacy, ethical compliance, and peer-review evidence. Decisions must not be influenced by nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, political belief, institutional affiliation, commercial interest, personal relationship, or the author’s ability to provide financial support.

Author Responsibilities

  • Submit original work and cite all sources accurately.
  • Do not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time.
  • Present data, documentation, images, creative works, methods, and analysis honestly.
  • Retain research records and provide supporting information when reasonably requested.
  • List as authors only individuals who made substantial contributions and approved the manuscript.
  • Disclose funding, conflicts of interest, prior dissemination, preprints, related manuscripts, permissions, ethical approval, and material use of generative AI.
  • Notify the journal promptly when a significant error or ethical problem is discovered before or after publication.

Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship is limited to individuals who made substantial contributions to the conception or design, acquisition or creation of material, analysis or interpretation, drafting or critical revision, approval of the final version, and accountability for the work. Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged with their permission. Gift, guest, honorary, and ghost authorship are prohibited.

Originality, Plagiarism, and Redundant Publication

Authors must distinguish their own work from material created by others and must provide appropriate quotation, citation, attribution, and permission. Reuse of substantial content without disclosure, including reuse of the authors’ previous publications, may constitute plagiarism, text recycling, duplicate publication, or redundant publication. Translated or substantially overlapping publications require disclosure and editorial approval.

Data, Images, Creative Documentation, and Research Records

Fabrication, falsification, selective omission, deceptive manipulation, and misrepresentation are prohibited. This applies to numerical data, transcripts, field notes, images, audio, video, scores, code, models, generated outputs, design documentation, and records of artistic practice. Legitimate editing for clarity must not alter the meaning or evidentiary value of the material.

Human Participants, Consent, and Cultural Communities

Research involving human participants, identifiable individuals, personal information, cultural communities, or restricted cultural knowledge must follow applicable ethical and legal requirements. Authors must obtain institutional approval and informed consent when required. They must protect privacy and explain how consent, attribution, access, and cultural restrictions were managed.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose relationships or interests that could reasonably be perceived to influence the work. These may include financial interests, employment, consultancy, intellectual property, personal relationships, academic competition, institutional roles, funding, advocacy, or prior involvement in the research.

Editor and Reviewer Responsibilities

Editors must protect confidentiality, manage conflicts, select competent reviewers, communicate decisions clearly, and respond to credible concerns. Reviewers must provide objective, respectful, evidence-based, and timely assessments. Unpublished content may not be appropriated or disclosed.

Complaints and Appeals

Complaints concerning editorial conduct, peer review, ethics, published content, or journal procedures should be sent to the official journal contact with supporting evidence. The journal will acknowledge the complaint, assess whether further information is required, and assign an appropriate person who is not directly implicated where practicable. Authors may appeal decisions by identifying a material procedural or factual error. Harassment, threats, and repeated unsupported allegations may be restricted.

Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

The journal will correct the scholarly record when reliable evidence shows that published content contains a significant error, misleading information, unreliable findings, unethical research, plagiarism, duplicate publication, unauthorized material, or another serious integrity problem. The response may include a correction, retraction, removal in exceptional legal or safety circumstances, or an expression of concern while an investigation remains unresolved.

Publisher Responsibility

Aksara Sarana Utama supports editorial independence, maintains the publishing platform, preserves records, and cooperates with editors in responding to ethical concerns. Financial or institutional interests do not override the need to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
