Repository Policy
Indonesian Journal of Socio-Cultural Learning (IJSL) supports author self-archiving and the deposit of scholarly manuscripts in legitimate academic repositories. This policy specifically regulates the versions of manuscripts that may be deposited, permitted repository locations, and the identification of the official Version of Record.
Questions concerning public access to published articles are governed by the journal's Open Access Policy, while copyright ownership, licensing, and reuse are governed by the Copyright Notice.
1. Permitted Versions
Authors may deposit the following versions of their manuscripts:
Submitted Version / Preprint
The version submitted before peer review.
Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM)
The version accepted for publication after peer review and revision but before final journal production.
Published Version / Version of Record (VoR)
The final article formally published by IJSL.
IJSL permits repository deposit of all three versions without an embargo period.
2. Permitted Repositories
Authors may deposit permitted manuscript versions in:
-
institutional or university repositories;
-
disciplinary or subject repositories;
-
national research repositories;
-
repositories required by research funders;
-
recognized preprint servers;
-
personal or institutional academic webpages; and
-
other legitimate scholarly repositories.
Repositories that provide stable access, reliable metadata, and persistent identifiers are strongly encouraged.
3. Preprint Deposit
Authors may deposit a preprint before or during submission to IJSL.
Where a manuscript has previously been made publicly available as a preprint, authors should disclose this information during submission.
After the article is formally published, authors are encouraged to update the preprint record by adding the complete citation and DOI or permanent link to the Version of Record.
4. Author Accepted Manuscript
The Author Accepted Manuscript may be deposited immediately after acceptance.
The repository copy should clearly indicate that it is an accepted manuscript and not the final published version.
Where applicable, the following statement may be used:
“This is the Author Accepted Manuscript of an article accepted for publication in Indonesian Journal of Socio-Cultural Learning (IJSL). The final Version of Record is available at: This is the Author Accepted Manuscript of an article accepted for publication in Indonesian Journal of Socio-Cultural Learning (IJSL). The final Version of Record is available at: https://doi.org/10.xxxx/ijsl.xxxx.”
5. Version of Record
Authors may deposit the final published Version of Record.
Where the Version of Record is deposited, the repository record should include, where available:
-
author name(s);
-
article title;
-
journal title;
-
volume and issue;
-
year of publication;
-
page range or article number;
-
DOI; and
-
permanent link to the article on the IJSL website.
The deposited Version of Record should remain identifiable as the official version published by IJSL.
6. Citation and Metadata
Repository copies should acknowledge Indonesian Journal of Socio-Cultural Learning (IJSL) as the original journal publication once the article has been published.
Authors are encouraged to include the complete bibliographic citation and DOI of the Version of Record to support accurate citation, discovery, and linkage between repository copies and the journal's formal publication record.
7. Post-Publication Updates
Where an article is subsequently corrected, retracted, or becomes subject to an Expression of Concern, authors are encouraged to update repository records so that the current publication status is clearly indicated.
Where technically possible, repository copies should link to the relevant editorial notice published by IJSL.
The handling of corrections, retractions, and other post-publication notices is governed by the journal's Retraction and Correction Policy.
8. Deposit Conditions
Repository deposit must not obscure or misrepresent:
-
authorship;
-
publication status;
-
bibliographic information;
-
the relationship between a manuscript version and the Version of Record; or
-
any formal post-publication notice issued by the journal.
Authors remain responsible for ensuring that repository deposit complies with applicable ethical, legal, confidentiality, and third-party rights requirements.
9. Relationship with Other IJSL Policies
This Repository Policy should be read together with the journal's:
-
Open Access Policy, which governs reader access to published content;
-
Copyright Notice, which governs copyright ownership, licensing, attribution, and reuse;
-
Plagiarism and Similarity Policy, which addresses prior dissemination and originality; and
-
Retraction and Correction Policy, which governs changes to the scholarly record after publication.
Guiding Principle
Authors may deposit the Submitted Version, Author Accepted Manuscript, and Version of Record of articles published in Indonesian Journal of Socio-Cultural Learning (IJSL) in legitimate scholarly repositories without an embargo period. Repository records should clearly identify the manuscript version and, once available, provide the citation and DOI or permanent link to the official Version of Record.
