Advertising Policy
Advertising Policy
Indonesian Journal of Socio-Cultural Learning (IJSL) maintains a clear separation between advertising, sponsorship, commercial interests, and editorial decision-making.
The journal does not permit advertising or commercial relationships to influence manuscript selection, peer review, editorial evaluation, acceptance, rejection, publication priority, or the interpretation of published scholarly content.
1. Editorial Independence
All editorial decisions are made independently on the basis of scholarly merit, originality, methodological quality, relevance to the journal's scope, and compliance with applicable editorial and ethical standards.
Advertisers, sponsors, commercial partners, service providers, and other external parties have no authority to influence editorial decisions or the content of peer-review reports.
2. Acceptance of Advertising
Where IJSL accepts advertising, advertisements must be clearly distinguishable from editorial and scholarly content.
Advertising may include information concerning:
-
academic conferences;
-
scholarly books and publications;
-
educational programs;
-
research services;
-
academic institutions;
-
professional associations; or
-
other products or services considered relevant to the journal's scholarly readership.
The journal reserves the right to refuse advertising that is misleading, unlawful, discriminatory, unethical, inappropriate, or inconsistent with the academic character of IJSL.
3. Separation from Scholarly Content
Advertisements must not be presented in a manner that could reasonably lead readers to believe that they constitute peer-reviewed content, editorial recommendations, or endorsements by IJSL.
Advertising content should be visually and contextually distinguishable from:
-
research articles;
-
editorials;
-
peer-review materials;
-
journal policies;
-
scholarly announcements; and
-
other editorial content.
4. No Endorsement
The appearance of an advertisement in IJSL does not constitute endorsement by the journal, Editorial Board, editors, reviewers, or CV Aksara Sarana Utama, Indonesia.
Advertisers remain responsible for the accuracy, legality, and claims contained in their advertisements.
IJSL does not accept responsibility for products, services, events, organizations, or claims promoted through third-party advertising.
5. Advertising and Author Fees
Advertising arrangements are administratively separate from author publication charges.
Payment for advertising does not affect:
-
manuscript submission;
-
peer-review outcomes;
-
editorial decisions;
-
Article Processing Charges (APCs); or
-
publication priority.
Similarly, authors, institutions, or organizations purchasing advertising space do not receive preferential treatment in the editorial process.
6. Sponsored Content
IJSL does not present paid promotional material as independent scholarly or peer-reviewed content.
Where sponsored material is accepted, it must be clearly identified as Sponsored, Advertisement, or by another unambiguous designation.
The source of sponsorship should be disclosed where appropriate.
7. Placement of Advertising
Advertising placement must not interfere with the readability, integrity, or interpretation of scholarly articles.
Where advertising appears on the journal website, its placement should remain clearly separate from the presentation of article content and editorial decisions.
The journal does not permit advertising to be targeted or positioned on the basis of whether an individual manuscript receives a favorable or unfavorable editorial decision.
8. Conflict of Interest
Any potential conflict between advertising relationships and the journal's editorial activities must be managed in a manner that preserves editorial independence.
Editors responsible for individual publication decisions should not be subject to commercial pressure arising from advertising agreements.
9. Right to Withdraw Advertising
IJSL reserves the right to reject, discontinue, or remove advertising when the content:
-
violates applicable law;
-
contains false or misleading claims;
-
conflicts with scholarly or publication-ethics standards;
-
risks damaging the integrity or reputation of the journal; or
-
becomes inappropriate following new information.
Removal of advertising does not affect the status of independently evaluated scholarly articles.
Guiding Principle
Advertising and commercial relationships must remain entirely independent of the editorial and peer-review processes of Indonesian Journal of Socio-Cultural Learning (IJSL). The presence of advertising does not constitute endorsement and must never influence scholarly publication decisions.
