Ethnosonic Journal

Ethnosonic Journal is an interdisciplinary scholarly journal exploring sound, music, and listening in social and cultural life. It examines how communities produce, interpret, and transmit sonic knowledge, and how these practices shape identities, social relationships, and experiences of place.

Bringing ethnomusicology and sound studies into dialogue with the humanities, social sciences, arts, and acoustics, the journal welcomes research on musical practices, instruments, sonic environments, voice, cultural memory, media, and technology across diverse geographical and historical contexts.

Ethnosonic Journal publishes empirical, theoretical, and methodological research, critical reviews, and practice based inquiries that advance understanding of the relationships between sound, human experience, and cultural knowledge.
